Stretching Massage

also known as Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is an effective tool for providing flexibility, range of motion, pain relief and relieving knots in the muscular tissue. Therapeutic Body Stretching involves stretching a muscle, tendon, and / or connective tissue with the purpose of improving muscle elasticity, range of motion, and flexibility. Light or deep stretching can be used for FST depending on the condition of the muscle involved. For deep stretching the muscles are first warmed up with regular massage and then we will perform the stretch which allows you to totally relax because we will be supporting you completely during the stretch. Because of this total relaxation the muscles will release better which leads to greater results. Sometimes the muscles and fascia are just to tight to start out with deep stretching, this is where light stretching comes in. We slowly work with light stretching therapy sometimes over more than one visit until we can start moving into deep stretch therapy. It is important to let us know during either type of stretch if we are moving too fast. Is Fascial Stretch Therapy right for you? Only you can answer that question, but here are some questions to consider: Are you experiencing tightness in your body? Do you want to prevent injury? Are you athletic and want to increase your performance level? Do you train for for some type of event and want to reduce your recovery time? Do you have either physical or mental stress in your life? Do you want to improve your quality of life? Do you want to reduce or eliminate back problems? Have you tried stretching on your own but never achieved the desired result? Does the idea of being stretched without the pain that normally goes along with it appeal to you? Over the years has your posture changed or become bad? If any of these questions apply to you then Therapeutic Body Stretching will have a positive impact on you.
